The Po river

10th April. On Easter Sunday, we followed the Po river and arrived in Piacenza where we spent the night in a lovely studio.

 

Campsites in Italy were not all open for the season but we did a few extra km to find Camping Arizona on the 11th April.

10 avril. Dimanche de pâques nous avons suivi la rivière Po pour arriver à Piacenza où nous avons passé la nuit dans un très beau studio.

 

Les campings en Italie ne sont pas tous ouverts pour la saison, mais après quelques km hors de notre route le 11 avril, nous avons trouvé le Camping Arizona. 

 

 

12th April  We  headed towards the Apennine mountains for our first real climb. 55km with 12km uphill. +979m. Happy to make it thus far!

We stopped for the night at Ostello di Cassio.

13th April 87km. The last climb to Passo della Cisa (1041m) before a long 50km descent and at last we reached the Mediterranean.

We took a stroll through the pretty village of Cassio.

12 avril Nous avons commencé notre première vraie montée en direction des Apennines. 55km avec 12km de montée. +979m. Heureuse d'y arriver! Nous avons passé la nuit à Ostello di Cassio.

13th avril 87km. Dernière montée à Passo della Cisa (1041m) avant une longue descente de 50km pour arriver enfin au bord de la Méditerranée.

14th April We cycled along the Mediterranean and then found a campsite in the hills near Lucca.
